Savannah, GA, Decided.
Every decision that matters, on one page.
✦ Stay: Hamilton-Turner Inn ($$$$)
✦ Eat: Elizabeth on 37th — book days-to-weeks for dinner; reservations strongly recommended (call 912-236-5547 or book online), especially weekends/holidays. Dinner-only, closed Sundays.
✦ Stay: Hotel Bardo Savannah ($$$$)
✦ Eat: The Grey — book weeks for the main dining room (Resy, released on a rolling window — book the day the window opens); OR skip the reservation entirely and walk into the Diner Bar (Gate 2 / counter + booths, unreserved — they start taking names at ~5pm) for a more casual menu in the same restored terminal.
✦ Stay: JW Marriott Savannah Plant Riverside District ($$$)
✦ Eat: The Olde Pink House — book weeks-to-months for a dinner table (the classic Savannah reservation crunch); OR skip the reservation and walk into Planters Tavern, the downstairs cellar bar — no reservations, full menu, live piano nightly from ~7:30pm. You must ASK to be seated in the Tavern; staff don't always offer it.
✦ Stay: The Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa ($$$)
✦ Eat: Mrs. Wilkes' Dining Room — book walk-in ONLY, no reservations — but the plan IS the reservation: get in line 30+ minutes before the 11am open (line forms early; typical wait 30–60 min). Family-style communal seating; you sit with strangers and dishes are passed. Open Mon–Fri 11am–2pm only, closed Sat & Sun. Cards accepted (cash still preferred).
When to go: March, April, October, November.
