Privacy Policy

Meravella (meravellatravel.com), operated by Stephanie Rude ("we," "us"), runs this site. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you have. The short version: we collect as little as we can, we never sell your data, and you can take it with you or delete it anytime.
What we collect
- Your email address — only if you subscribe to our newsletter, or ask us to send you something. We manage email through Kit (ConvertKit), our email provider.
- Trip details you send us — if you buy or request a Concierge review, you share your name, email, and the trip details you choose to give us (destination, dates, who's traveling, your budget range, and what you're deciding). We use this only to write and deliver your review. The form is delivered to us through FormSubmit.
- Payment information — if you buy a Concierge review, your payment is processed by Stripe. Stripe collects and handles your card details directly under its own privacy policy; we never see or store your full card number.
- Basic usage & analytics data — pages viewed, general location (country/region), and device/browser type. We use Google Analytics (GA4) and Vercel Web Analytics to understand which guides are useful. Vercel's analytics is cookieless; Google Analytics uses cookies and loads only if you accept analytics cookies in our consent banner.
- Advertising measurement — we run ads (currently Google Search ads) to reach new readers, and use Google Ads conversion tracking to see whether an ad led to a newsletter signup. This uses cookies and loads only if you accept advertising cookies in our consent banner.
Cookies & consent
- Essential cookies keep the site working (for example, remembering guides you've saved). These are always on.
- Analytics and advertising cookies (Google Analytics, Google Ads) load only after you accept them in our cookie banner. Our default is privacy-first: if you make no choice, we load no non-essential cookies. You can change your choice anytime.
- When you click an affiliate link (see our Disclosure), the destination site sets its own cookies under its own policy — not ours.
How we use it
- To send you the newsletter and anything else you asked for.
- To write and deliver the Concierge review you requested.
- To process Concierge payments (through Stripe).
- To understand which guides help people, and to measure whether our ads are working, so we spend wisely.
- To operate, secure, and maintain the site.
We do not make automated decisions about you, and we do not sell, rent, or trade your data — ever.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers that run the site, and only what each one needs to do its job:
- Kit (ConvertKit) — email delivery · Stripe — payment processing · Google — Analytics + Ads measurement · Vercel — hosting + cookieless analytics · FormSubmit — delivering the Concierge form to us · Affiliate networks (Travelpayouts, Stay22) — only when you click an affiliate link, and under their own policies.
Each provider has its own privacy policy. We share the minimum required, and never for a provider's independent marketing.
Your rights
Whatever the law where you live requires, we extend to everyone:
- Access & export your data · Correct it · Delete it · Unsubscribe from email (one click, in every email).
- To make a request, email stephanie@meravellatravel.com. We'll respond within 30 days.
- California (CCPA): we do not sell or share your personal information, and we won't discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Data retention
We keep your email while you're subscribed and for a short period after you unsubscribe, then delete it. Concierge details and payment records are kept only as long as we need them to deliver the service and meet tax and legal requirements, then deleted. Analytics data is retained in aggregate for up to 14 months.
Children
Meravella is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us data, email us and we'll delete it.
International visitors
We're based in the United States. If you visit from elsewhere, your data may be processed in the US under the protections described here. You still have the rights listed above.
Changes
We'll post any changes here with a new "last updated" date, and email subscribers if a change is material.
