Worth it? YES, and free. It's the orienting downtown experience: one flat, scenic walk links Curtis Hixon Park, the Tampa Museum of Art, the Florida Aquarium, Sparkman Wharf, and Armature Works, with the free streetcar and water taxis to shortcut the ends. The Curtis Hixon Park → Sparkman Wharf stretch at golden hour is the signature.

Who it’s NOT for: Travelers wanting a single ticketed "attraction" — this is connective tissue linking sights, not a gate you pay at. Anyone needing shade at peak-summer midday — much of the path is exposed; go early or at golden hour. Visitors with zero interest in walking — though a water-taxi hop covers part of it.

Skip it if: You have no interest in walking or waterfront and want only ticketed attractions — but even then, one golden-hour stretch orients the whole downtown.

Time needed: ~1–3 hours to walk end-to-end (half/full day with stops at parks, museums, food halls). (research: thetampariverwalk, visittampabay)

Best time: Late afternoon into sunset for the light + cooler temps; dry season (Nov–Apr) most comfortable. Open 24h, free. Summer midday is hot and exposed.
