Worth it? YES, chiefly for THE image: a 1.5-mile avenue of ~400 live oaks dripping Spanish moss, arguably the most photographed tree tunnel in the South. Low admission (~$10–12 adult). Beyond the allée there is a short nature trail, tabby ruins, and a small museum. Best understood as a photo-and-atmosphere stop plus light history, not a half-day attraction.
Who it’s NOT for: Travelers expecting a grand plantation house — the star is the tree tunnel and grounds; the on-site ruins and museum are modest. Anyone without a car and unwilling to rideshare ~15–20 min south of downtown (not walkable).
