It's the marquee new-luxury debut on this beach — a curved 22-story tower that opened in 2022 at 525 N Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd, with 189 rooms and suites right on the Atlantic sand. Spa, beachfront pools, and Four Seasons service on the A1A strip; Evelyn's and Honey Fitz downstairs for the dining.
It reset the ceiling for the whole town — a tier of polish the older strip simply didn't have before.

- What We'd Do Differently: book an ocean-view category so the sunrise is yours from the balcony; use the Water Taxi to reach Las Olas and downtown rather than expecting to walk; and because it's the top rate tier in town, verify the current rate and which dining and spa venues are running for your dates before you commit.
🪙 Smart Alternative: Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach is the value play for the same beach — an all-suite oceanfront tower a few doors up the strip (551 N Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd), with living-room space, a kitchenette, and an Atlantic balcony in every suite, for a tier below the Four Seasons top rate. You trade the full-resort spa, scale, and grand-service ceiling for suite space and a calmer, more residential feel — still directly on the ocean.
If you can, book the ocean-view balcony, and be out on the sand before the loungers fill.

The Fort Lauderdale hotel for a boating trip when the point is to be on the water among the yachts, not across a road from the beach.
Why we chose it
It's the one hotel here that literally sits on the water among the boats — the landmark marina resort at 2301 SE 17th St, reopened in 2025 after a ground-up rebuild, anchored by the city's largest superyacht marina (164 slips, yachts to around 400 feet). The rooms have waterfront balconies, there's a big spa and a dozen-plus places to eat, and the restored rotating Pier Top bar looks out over all of it.
For a trip whose whole point is the water, this is the address that actually is on it.

- What We'd Do Differently: book a marina- or Intracoastal-facing room for the balcony over the boats; use the Water Taxi straight from the dock to reach Las Olas, downtown, and the beach; and because it's a brand-new reopening, confirm the current rate and which of the many venues are operating for your dates.

It's the grand-luxury tower at the most convenient corner of Fort Lauderdale Beach — oceanfront at the Las Olas beach entrance, right where the causeway meets the sand. Nearly every room has an ocean-view balcony, a skywalk carries you over A1A straight to the beach, and the Water Taxi stops at the corner — so a multigen group can split up and regroup all day without anyone needing a car.
The trade for that central, walk-to-everything address: the beach is across A1A by skywalk rather than a step off a private deck, rates run at the top of the market, and this is a polished grand hotel — not a lazy-river-and-kids'-club resort.

It sits on a quarter-mile of its own sand in the gated Harbor Beach enclave just south of the strip, with a lagoon pool and a kids' splash pad, suites to spread a group out, and a beach set up for you with chairs, umbrellas, and service. You trade the Ritz's walk-to-Las-Olas address for private-beach calm and room to breathe — you drive or take the Water Taxi to town. Why we chose it
We've stayed here — a couple of times, once over Memorial weekend — so this is the Fort Lauderdale pick we can vouch for firsthand. The Dalmar is a design-forward downtown high-rise at 299 N Federal Hwy (a Marriott lifestyle hotel, ~209 mid-century-modern rooms), and it's artsy enough that it doesn't feel like a hotel when you walk in: the entrance is a coffee shop, and you ride the elevator up to even check in. The main lobby is beautifully designed, and the reason to book it is on the roof — a roughly 100-foot saltwater infinity pool and the Sparrow bar on the 25th floor, with a great view out over the city. It's walkable to Las Olas, the galleries, and the New River, a Water Taxi ride from the beach, and the closest of our luxury field to Wilton Manors.
Not a beach hotel — a downtown design base built for a scene, and one we love.
